Stewart Island Ferry Services
Experience Foveaux Strait in comfort and style on board our express catamarans. During the one-hour crossing between Bluff and Stewart Island keep a lookout for wildlife, especially seabirds. Watching mollymawks (albatross) soaring behind the ferry is a fantastic sight.
Comprehensive commentaries provide information on the interesting landmarks commonly seen, including Dog Island Lighthouse, Ruapuke Island, the Titi Islands and Mt Anglem - Stewart Island’s highest point.

Check-in: Visitors are required to check-in 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Check-in and boarding gates are closed 10 minutes prior to ferry departure.

COACH TRANSFERS
To ensure excellent connections with our Stewart Island Ferry Services, we operate coach connections from Queenstown, Te Anau and Invercargill to Bluff.
Invercargill - Bluff Coach Transfers
Invercargill - Bluff coach transfers connect with each ferry departure and arrival (must be pre-booked). The coach from Invercargill departs one hour before the ferry leaves from Bluff. The coach transfer from Bluff to Invercargill returns passengers to Invercargill, one hour after the ferry berths. Invercargill pick-up / drop off location is:

- Tuatara Backpackers Lodge
- Victoria Railway Hotel
- Invercargill Airport
Queenstown & Te Anau – Bluff Coach Transfers
Stewart Island Experience utilises the services of Tracknet to provide a connecting coach transfer service from Queenstown and Te Anau to Bluff, departing daily (until late April). Queenstown & Te Anau pick-up / drop off locations are:
- Real Journeys Visitor Centre, Steamer Wharf, Queenstown
- Real Journeys Visitor Centre, Lakefront, Te Anau
Stewart Island Coach Transfers

We now offer flights from Invercargill to Stewart Island and return ferry crossings with Stewart Island Experience or vice versa.
