Tourism pioneers since 1954
The Real Journeys story began in 1954 when Sir Les and Olive, Lady Hutchins (who gained his knighthood for services to conservation and tourism) started taking visitors into the unexplored Doubtful Sound. We continue their dream of sharing the spectacular wilderness with visitors. Find out more about our tourism history.
We have vast local knowledge and a passion for sharing it with visitors. As a result, we can deliver a better experience. We are based in Queenstown, Te Anau, Milford Sound, Manapouri, Bluff and Stewart Island. If you want to get in touch, there’s many ways – have a look at our contact details.
We’re one of the most awarded tourism companies in New Zealand. We’ve won numerous awards – from our visitors (check out our many awards from Trip Advisor), within the tourism industry and from our friends at the Department of Conservation. Read more about the awards we’ve won.
